Gathering Stories

After I decided to try to publish these reflections, I sent book proposals to five publishing houses. I swiftly got five rejections, became demoralized and decided it wasn't to be. Then a few months later, I happened to be visiting with close friends from college, and I talked about this idea. One of the friends, Tiffany Tibbs, said something like, "I've been thinking about starting a business to help writers," and I asked, "Can you help me?"

She said "Yes!" and help me she did! A writer herself, she and I met on Zoom over the next year and she was instrumental in keeping me accountable, not to mention doing all the endnotes, formatting, connecting me with editors, cheeerleading, and helping with marketing.

During the process, she started her own company, Gathering Stories, whose mission is to help people tell the stories that matter to them.
